Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides held talks with Italian major Eni in Rome on 27 February as a final investment decision (FID) looms for the firm’s 3.1tcf (gas in place) Cronos gas field offshore Cyprus. Talks have advanced in recent months after a slew of commercial deals were signed in Limassol last October (MEES, 24 October 2025).
