Cyprus Energy Minister Michael Damianos confirmed to lawmakers during a House Committee meeting on 17 February that he expects European majors Eni and TotalEnergies to take a final investment decision (FID) on their Block 6, 3.1tcf (gas in place) Cronos field by the end of March (MEES, 16 January). He told MPs that first gas is expected either in late 2027 or the first half of 2028, with gas earmarked for export via Egypt’s Eni-operated 5mn t/y Segas LNG export terminal at Damietta.

Cronos will be connected via 90km subsea pipeline to the under-utilized Zohr offshore facilities, in Egyptian waters, and from there piped onshore, after key tariffs and fees were agreed in October last year to use the infrastructure (MEES, 24 October 2025). (CONTINUED - 119 WORDS)
