Iran is planning to complete two long-delayed projects to add 180,000 b/d to its condensate splitter capacity by March next year, according to 1 September comments by National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company CEO Mohammad-Sadeq Azimifar. Current capacity is approximately 600,000 b/d, primarily at the three-train 450,000 b/d Persian Gulf Star (PGS) complex in Bandar Abbas. PGS typically supplies 30-45% of Iran’s gasoline demand.
A fourth 120,000 b/d train at PGS is being built by IRGC engineering arm Khatam al-Anbia but is suffering from delays. The new train, named the Mehr Persian Gulf Refinery, will provide a crucial supply boost once complete. Another 60,000 b/d will come from the South Adish splitter in Bushehr. South Adish is the sole train of the previously planned eight-unit Siraf project to be built (MEES, 9 September 2022). (CONTINUED - 182 WORDS)
