Kuwait’s offshore exploration campaign is stacking up successes. The first two wells out of its ongoing six-well drilling campaign yielded substantial discoveries totaling 2.9bn barrels of oil and 5.7tcf of gas, and Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) CEO Sheikh Nawaf Al Sabah is optimistic that the third well (Jazza-1) will also prove a success.

“The third one, we will announce [results] very shortly. But as they say, we’re batting 1,000 so far,” the CEO told July’s Opec Seminar in Vienna. The wait for results from the Jazza-1 well continues, but KPC’s upstream subsidiary KOC is pressing ahead with the fifth well of the campaign. (CONTINUED - 313 WORDS)
