On 25 August, the head of Yemen’s Hadhramaut governorate announced the approval of a plan to build a 25,000 b/d refinery at the port of Al Dhabba on the country’s southern coast.

Plans for the refinery date back to 2022, when the government reportedly awarded Emirati firm Malaih Investment the right to develop the project (MEES, 1 December 2023). A government source tells MEES money for the project will come from the governorate’s funds, but could not confirm if the Emirati firm was still involved in the project. (CONTINUED - 155 WORDS)
