Oman’s state-owned Integrated Gas Company (IGC) has become a key player in the country’s gas sector since its establishment in 2022. Formed to act as a matchmaker between upstream producers and end users, IGC took responsibility for supply and demand planning, gas deal negotiations, and the $2-4bn cost of purchasing and transporting gas within Oman from the energy and finance ministries.
The firm has been signing a steady stream of gas supply deals to help sustain and deliver new projects since 2022. Its first major deal was with Oman LNG to supply its roughly 1.5bn cfd feedstock requirements between 2025 and 2034 (MEES, 5 August). (CONTINUED - 716 WORDS)
