Abu Dhabi-based renewable energy investment firm Global South Utilities (GSU) announced on 26 November that it plans to invest $1bn in Yemen’s energy sector. It will develop solar and wind projects as well as improve transmission networks across the country.

Speaking at the National Energy Conference in Aden, GSU CEO Ali al-Shimmari said the “one-billion-dollar portfolio expands an energy system capable of supporting a larger economy and a more active market in Yemen.” (CONTINUED - 148 WORDS)
