Adnoc announced on 12 March that it has issued a Limited Notice to Proceed (LNTP) for early EPC activities to a JV developing its planned 9.6mn t/y Ruwais LNG project. The JV is led by Technip Energies alongside JGC and local firm NPCC. FID has yet to be taken, but is expected this year, on the project which will more than double Adnoc’s LNG capacity to around 15mn t/y by 2028 (MEES, 22 December 2023).

The two-train facility will use electric-driven motors instead of conventional gas turbines and will be powered by clean energy. Adnoc says the plant will be one the lowest-carbon intensity LNG facilities in the world. (CONTINUED - 108 WORDS)
