Under a 29 January sales and purchase agreement, QatarEnergy will deliver up to 1mn t/y of LNG to a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) off Bangladesh for 15 years starting in January 2026. During the first two years, Excelerate Energy, operator of Bangladesh’s two FSRUs totaling 8.3mn t/y, will purchase 0.85mn t/y before increasing to the full 1mn t/y from 2028 to 2040.
