Iraq is expecting its first associated gas processing capacity boost early this year with commissioning set to begin next month at the 300mn cfd Gas Processing Project (GPP) at the CNPC-operated 400,000 b/d-capacity Halfaya oil field in Maysan province. The GPP will be the largest element of 2024’s planned 500mn cfd of capacity additions which also includes 130mn cfd at the Faihaa oil field in Basra, and 67mn cfd from Dhi Qar’s Nasiriya and Gharaf fields (see map).
