Egypt’s state electricity firm EEHC has contracted Germany’s Siemens to “support the rehabilitation” of the country’s largest hydropower complex at Aswan.
The 2.1GW Aswan High Dam was built by former President Nasser as an iconic national project, starting up in 1967. Aswan’s 2.65GW of overall capacity also includes 280MW Aswan I (1960) and 270MW Aswan II (1986). (CONTINUED - 227 WORDS)
