The freshly-released 2022 annual report of Algerian state oil and gas giant Sonatrach claims a near-5% (123mn m3) reduction in gas flaring to 2.66bcm for 2022, whilst the proportion of wellhead associated gas going up in smoke fell from 4.45% in 2021 to 3.68% for 2022.

Whilst these gains are relatively modest, and Algeria remains one of the world’s worst culprits for gas flaring according to World Bank stats, there are more gains to come. (CONTINUED - 363 WORDS)
