UAE-based contractor NPCC has been awarded an AD805mn ($219mn) EPC contract to replace a 125km stretch of offshore pipeline. The 20” pipeline connects the Umm Lulu field to Zirku Island, from which volumes are subsequently exported to global markets. The field is part of the 200,000 b/d Sarb & Umm Lulu concession operated by Adnoc (60%) alongside OMV (20%) and TotalEnergies (20%) – the French firm bought out Spain’s Cepsa earlier this year (MEES, 3 March).

The contract was announced by NPCC’s parent company NMDC on Abu Dhabi’s ADX bourse on 26 July. The project is expected to be completed in 32 months. The award comes shortly after NPCC and partner CAT were awarded a $615mn gas pipeline expansion project by Adnoc Gas (MEES, 7 July). (CONTINUED - 120 WORDS)
