French major TotalEnergies has contracted Transocean’s Barents drillship for the highly anticipated well at the Qana prospect, which straddles the newly agreed maritime border between Lebanon and Israel (see map). “The Transocean Barents was awarded a one well contract with TotalEnergies… the approximately 65-day contract is expected to commence in direct continuation of the rig’s current program and provide for up to three option wells,” Transocean said in its Q1 results on 1 May.
