*Algeria’s piped gas exports to Italy surged to 2.96bn cfd (2.52bcm) for April, the highest April figure on record and the highest for any month since February 2012.
*The winter quarters of Q1 and to a lesser extent Q4 normally contain the peak months for shipments. But this year bucked the trend with January, February and Q1 average volumes all down year-on-year before April’s surge which left total Jan-April volumes at 2.2bn cfd (7.5bcm), level with a year earlier (see chart 1).
