State firm QatarEnergy announced on 2 April that it has agreed to take 40% of the Shell-operated C10 block off Mauritania. This leaves Shell with 50%, QatarEnergy with 40% and state firm SMH with 10%. The 11,500km2 block ranges from 30 to 130km offshore with water depths of 50 meters up to 2,000 meters (see map).
