Cyprus has rejected a request by US major Chevron, operator of the country’s 3.5tcf Aphrodite field, for a four-month extension to a 7 November contractual obligation to launch front-end engineering design (FEED).

This comes after Chevron (35%op) and its partners UK major Shell (35%) and Israel’s NewMed Energy (30%) in May lodged modifications to a field development plan (FDP) agreed in 2019 which Nicosia rejected, leaving the two sides at loggerheads (MEES, 25 August). (CONTINUED - 676 WORDS)
