Oman aims to complete key power-sector regulations by the end of the year, according to the sultanate’s Authority for Public Services Regulation (APSR). The legal framework will enable eligible power generators to sell electricity directly to large customers, and bypass state offtaker Oman Power and Water Procurement Company (OPWP), which is the sole buyer of all electricity output under current legislation.
