Israel on 2 July shot down three unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) as they flew into Israeli airspace on their way towards the 8bcm/y Energean Power FPSO, moored since last month above the Greek firm’s 1.4tcf Karish gas field.

Karish lies within waters that are now in part claimed by Lebanon, after Beirut extended its maritime claims in 2020 (MEES, 17 June). Hezbollah threatened upon the FPSO’s early-June arrival, 80km off the coast of Haifa that it would use force if necessary to protect Lebanon’s rights. (CONTINUED - 840 WORDS)
