London-listed Energean says its 1.4tcf Karish field off Israel “remains on track” for first gas in Q3. However the timeframe looks tight. In a 26 May operations update Energean says the ‘Energean Power’ FPSO set to arrive in “early June”. Upon arrival, Energean “will immediately commence hook-up and offshore commissioning operations.” “Energean expects approximately three to four months of commissioning and hook-up activities between the FPSO’s arrival and first gas,” the firm adds.

Energean is currently part-way through an Israel drilling campaign. Following the modest 0.28tcf Athena discovery on Block 12 (MEES, 13 May), the Stena IceMax drillship has re-spudded the Karish Main-04 exploration and appraisal well. It will then complete the previously-drilled Karish North (KN-01) exploration well as a producer with a view to brining the 1.2tcf Karish North wet gas field online in 2H 2023 (MEES, 17 December 2021).
