Adnoc announced on 19 May three new discoveries with total reserves of 650mn barrels of predominately Murban-grade crude oil (40°API, 0.7% sulfur). The largest discovery was of 500mn barrels at the Bu Hasa field in the Adnoc Onshore concession, which the firm says “has unlocked a new formation within the field, offering substantial additional premium-grade Murban oil resources.”

Next up was a 100mn barrel discovery at the Onshore 3 exploration block operated by US independent Occidental. This is the second discovery at the block, after Occidental announced a “multi-reservoir discovery” last year (MEES, 26 February 2021). (CONTINUED - 114 WORDS)
