Private equity-backed Neptune Energy says its 450mn cfd (4.5bcm/y) capacity Touat field in Algeria will return to sustained production in the second half of the year after shutting down the facility in November last year due to mechanical problems (MEES, 25 March).
“The Touat gas processing plant remained shut-in throughout the first quarter to carry out an investigation into the performance of the plant’s mercury removal unit. Remediation and upgrades to improve the resilience of the plant are currently progressing,” Neptune said in its first quarter results on 12 May in which it posted bumper profits of $493.6mn.
