Opec agreed on 31 March to reshuffle its list of secondary sources – the group of external organizations which provide an aggregate independent assessment of Opec monthly production. The group stated that “at the Extraordinary 183rd Meeting of the Opec Conference held via videoconference today, the Conference, in a short meeting, approved with immediate effect, the replacement of the International Energy Agency (IEA) with Wood Mackenzie and Rystad Energy as secondary sources used to assess Opec Member Countries crude oil production.”

In response, the IEA stated that “IEA data and analysis remain available to all those seeking rigorous and objective market information. To support transparency, the IEA will henceforth make its monthly update on Opec+ oil production available to the public.” (CONTINUED - 248 WORDS)
