Saudi Arabia’s Advanced Petrochemical this week finalized two key deals central to its $1.7bn Jubail expansion project. The listed firm announced on 4 December that it had secured approval from the Ministry of Energy to develop propane-feedstock pipelines, and the next day confirmed financial close for under-construction chemical plants.

Advanced Petrochemical (85%) and Korea’s SK Gas (15%) are developing an 800,000 t/y propane dehydrogenation/polypropylene (PDH/PP) complex at Jubail through their Advanced Polyolefins joint venture. This will include an 843,000 t/y PDH plant to produce feedstock for two 400,000 t/y polypropylene plants, as well as a 70,000 t/y isopropanol (IPA) unit (MEES, 23 April 2021). (CONTINUED - 794 WORDS)
