Oman’s Ministry of Energy and Minerals and the Oman Investment Authority are to collaborate with US services firm SLB (formerly Schlumberger) on building a national strategy to develop the potential of the Sultanate’s geothermal resources.
The 16 November announcement follows a three-month analysis of more than 7,000 oil, gas and water wells to identify areas of geothermal potential in the Sultanate, SLB says.
