Gross output from Genel’s Kurdistan portfolio rose 4% year-on-year to 124,710 b/d for the first half of 2021 thanks in large part to the start-up of the Sarta field last November. Sarta (Chevron 50%op, Genel 30%, KRG 20%) output averaged 7,080 b/d in H1, including a monthly record 8,400 b/d in June, Genel indicated in its H1 results on 3 August. However, this was still significantly less than the 20,000 b/d capacity of the field’s Early Production Facility (EPF), and Genel acknowledges that “pilot production has not reached the levels that we had hoped in H1.” (CONTINUED - 631 WORDS)
