Security staff at Libya’s Repsol-led 300,000 b/d El Sharara field in southwest have threatened to halt the flow of oil to the Zawiya export terminal west of Tripoli unless their demands for pay are met by 21 April. The ‘Petroleum Facilities Guard’ at Sharara said their “field allowance bonus” had been abruptly suspended in a statement dated 7 April. El Sharara is no stranger to forced outages having been switched off and on countless times for varying reasons over the past decade.
