Russian oil firm Tatneft has finally restarted drilling operations in Libya, more than a decade after fleeing the country following the eruption of civil war in 2011.

On 15 October Tatneft resumed drilling appraisal well ‘B2’ in the Ghadames Basin’s Area 82, Block 4. Well B2 was hastily abandoned in 2011 at a depth of 1,200 meters as security conditions collapsed. National Oil Corporation (NOC) says the current plan is to drill to a depth of 2,700ms in about 45 days. (CONTINUED - 862 WORDS)
