Bahrain’s King Hamad Al Khalifa issued a decree this week abolishing the National Oil and Gas Authority (Noga), with the Oil Ministry assuming the entity's responsibilities. Noga was established in 2005 and its stated role was to “preserve Bahrain’s natural resources of oil and gas, to find alternatives therefore and to optimally utilize such resources to achieve a maximum return. The task of Noga mainly focuses on the regulation of the petroleum and associated industries in Bahrain.” Minister of Oil Sheikh Muhammad Al Khalifa is the chairman of Noga.
