The UAE says it is walking the walk when it comes to the energy transition as it pledges to invest heavily in “game-changing” hydrogen. Not only is hydrogen production being ramped up sharply, but the carbon footprint of existing output is to be slashed.

UAE Energy Minster Suhail al-Mazrouei told the Atlantic Council’s Global Energy Forum (GEF) on 19 January that “hydrogen is one of those resources that we think will play a key role in our future and in the world’s future.” UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and CEO of Adnoc Sultan al-Jaber said “hydrogen could be a gamechanger in the energy transition.” (CONTINUED - 965 WORDS)
