Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) and Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) this week signed an agreement to produce aluminium from solar-powered generation. In an 18 January announcement the partners said “the UAE has become the first country in the world to produce aluminium using the power of the sun.”
