Morocco’s renewable energy ambitions have received a boost this month as almost 400MW worth of projects entered construction phase following contract awards to Spain’s Siemens Gamesa and US-firm GE Renewable Energy.

Siemens Gamesa announced on 2 September it had received a firm order to supply eighty-seven 3.4MW turbines for the 300MW Boujdour wind farm which forms the second part of Enel Green Energy and Nareva’s ‘850MW Integrated Wind Project’ worth a combined $1.22bn. The order comes with a five-year service agreement for Siemens Gamesa. (CONTINUED - 514 WORDS)
