Iraqi Kurdistan’s biggest foreign operator DNO says output at its key Tawke license is back up to Q1’s 115,000 b/d. Having averaged 102,000 b/d in Q2, the firm says it has increased output by 15,000 b/d following a “fast tracked well intervention campaign” in June. DNO (75%) partners with Anglo-Turkish firm Genel (25%).

The partners have looked to the block’s Peshkabir field to offset steep declines from the eponymous Tawke field: in Q1 Tawke averaged 58,000 b/d and Peshkabir 44,000 b/d (MEES, 29 May). In June, the Peshkabir-to-Tawke gas reinjection project was commissioned, bringing enhanced oil recovery (EOR) techniques to Kurdistan for the first time, in a bid to halt Tawke declines.
