Tunisia late last month completed the second 312.5MW unit of its 625MW Mornaguia gas plant, boosting the country’s installed capacity to just over 6GW as it enters peak summer demand season.

Italian contractor Ansaldo Energia brought online the €240mn ($290mn) Mornaguia power plant’s first 312.5MW unit last year at around the same time Japan’s Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems started up the first 300MW unit of its 450MW Rades C CCGT plant (MEES, 14 June 2019).
