UAE services firm Lamprell announced this week that it had been awarded an engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning (EPCI) contract by the Sharjah National Oil Company (SNOC) for the Mahani gas and condensate field. The work entails “hook-up and installation” at the Mahani-1 well, “existing systems upgrade, associated tie-ins and a new 25km export pipeline.” Work is scheduled for early-2021 completion.

The Mahani field was only discovered in January, testing with flow rates of 50mn cfd lean gas alongside associated condensate (MEES, 31 January). The partners had envisioned fast-tracking production to begin by year-end (MEES, 27 March), but the Lamprell award now indicates 1Q 2021 – still a rapid development. (CONTINUED - 106 WORDS)
