UK major BP has confirmed that its Raven field, phase-3 of its $12bn, 5tcf West Nile Delta (WND) project offshore Egypt, has been delayed by 12 months. Raven was due to add some 900mn cfd of gas and 20-25,000 b/d condensate from late 2019 – a timeframe to which the major stuck right up to December (MEES, 20 December). Indeed, BP says the project is “mechanically complete.”

But speaking on his firm’s Q4 earnings call on 4 February, BP CFO Brian Gilvary acknowledges that “this one is delayed and it’s delayed significantly and it’s pretty much a function of some corrosion issues that were picked up as part of the commissioning.
