Libya’s Sirte Oil Company has almost doubled its output to 100,000 b/d from pre oil-blockade levels of around 55,000 b/d in January, the firm said on 17 December. The National Oil Corporation (NOC) subsidiary is now eying 130,000 b/d next year – an amount not seen for well over a decade.

Sirte Oil’s boost from about 87,000 b/d last week should now be bringing NOC closer to its end-year target of 1.3mn b/d, following a damaging eight-month oil blockade which was lifted in September (MEES, 11 December).
