Saudi Aramco’s huge investment in non-associated gas field development has paid off this year, enabling the state-led energy giant to achieve record gas production despite Opec+ crude output cuts slashing the production of associated gas.

The firm says in its Q3 results released 3 November that “Aramco achieved a record historic single-day natural gas production of 10.7bn cfd on 6 August 2020 from both conventional and unconventional fields.” No indication was provided as to gas output over the quarter as a whole.
