Talks resumed this week between Egypt, Ethiopia and Sudan as the three nations continue to search for an agreement over the filling of Addis Ababa’s flagship $5bn, 6GW Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD).

Six years of intermittent talks have failed to yield an agreement on how the dam is due to be filled with the most recent round of talks collapsing in August. Mediation efforts from the US, World Bank and the African Union have been unfruitful. (CONTINUED - 394 WORDS)
