Oman liquids output in 2019 has been remarkably stable at 970,000 b/d. But, with crude production down in line with the country’s Opec+ commitment, this is only thanks to condensate output which has risen rapidly to hit a record 141,000 b/d in August, up 27% since January (see chart).

The July start-up of Petroleum Development Oman’s $3.7bn Rabab Harweel Integrated Project (RHIP) has seen condensate output rise 24,000 b/d versus average Q2 levels. And more gains could be on the way. The EOR project has the capacity to produce 60,000 b/d liquids (mostly condensate), 210mn cfd sweet gas, and 565mn of raw sour gas for reinjection (MEES, 19 July).
