Soaring temperatures pushed Kuwaiti electricity consumption to an all-time high in June. Peak load hit 14.42GW on 27 June, easily exceeding the previous high of 14.07GW set in July 2018 (see chart 1).

Despite the substantial increase in demand, Kuwait’s installed power generation capacity remains well above the demand figure at 19.42GW. Indeed, this substantial buffer enabled Kuwait to remain a net exporter of electricity through the GCC electricity grid in June. (CONTINUED - 899 WORDS)
