Algerian state giant Sonatrach has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Versalis, the petrochemicals subsidiary of Italian oil major Eni, for “joint feasibility studies for an integrated petrochemical complex to be built in Algeria.”

Neither Sonatrach nor Versalis give specific details about the proposed project. Versalis says only that the study is aimed at “enhancing hydrocarbons with value added products through the development, in Algeria, of one or a few world-scale industrial petrochemical facilities.” (CONTINUED - 791 WORDS)
