Kuwait’s overseas petrochemicals expansion is gathering momentum with the award by MEGlobal to US firm Jacobs Engineering of a contract to provide engineering, procurement and construction management services for a 750,000 tons/year ethylene glycol plant at Freeport, Texas.

The plant will be MEGlobal’s first foray into the US, enabling it to compete for growing demand in the US and Asian markets. MEGlobal already operates three ethylene glycol plants in Canada’s Alberta province, the country’s oil sands heartland.
