Only 27% of the $3.5bn pledged in aid to rebuild Gaza after last summer’s devastating war has been delivered, according to a report by a group of aid agencies.

The report says that six months after October’s international donors conference in Cairo reconstruction has barely started at the besieged coastal enclave. At the Cairo conference a total of $5.6bn was pledged (MEES, 17 October 2014): of this $3.5bn was earmarked for Gaza (the rest was for general Palestinian government support), and a mere $945mn has been delivered.
