Delek, Noble’s partner at Israel’s 10 tcf Tamar field, on 18 March announced that the firms had reached agreement with private Egyptian firm Dolphinus to export gas to Egypt over five years using the existing East Mediterranean Gas pipeline, which until 2012 was used to deliver Egyptian gas to Israel.

But the Israeli firm appears to have jumped the gun. As part of the deal the Tamar partners are only obliged to transport the gas from Tamar to the receiving terminal at Ashkelon on the Israeli coast (MEES, 20 March). (CONTINUED - 316 WORDS)
