Qatar Electricity and Water Company (QEWC) has awarded a $500mn contract to Japan’s Mitsubishi to build a 160,000m³/d desalination plant for 3Q16 start-up. The plant will be built at Ras Abu Fontas, where Mitsubishi is already building a similar-sized plant for start-up in mid-2015.
The new plant will be Qatar’s first using reverse osmosis technology. (CONTINUED - 231 WORDS)
