Kuwait’s state-owned Partnerships Technical Bureau (PTB) and Ministry of Electricity and Water (MEW) have invited expressions of interest for the development of a 280MW integrated solar combined cycle (ISCC) plant at Al-Adbaliyah, 45km southwest of Kuwait City. The plant’s solar unit – which will heat steam to boost efficiency of the steam turbine – will contribute 60MW.

PTB, which oversees the government’s public-private partnership (PPP) program, says the project will be set up as a Kuwaiti joint stock company which will build, operate and transfer the power generation facility for an investment period of 25 years. The company will sign an energy conversion and power purchase agreement with MEW. The deadline for expression of interest letters is 23 June. (CONTINUED - 541 WORDS)
