Qatargas announced this week the start-up of its Plateau Maintenance Project (PMP), designed to extend Qatargas 1’s LNG production capacity of 10mn tons/year. The mostly brownfield project involved drilling and recompleting offshore wells, adding new onshore facilities for sulfur handling and modifying liquefaction trains 1-3. Qatargas says that the new sulfur processing plant is capable of treating 1bn cfd of feed gas.
