BP will soon turn over its seismic data and the results of exploratory drilling to the Jordanian government as part of a handover to the country’s tiny National Petroleum Company (NPC), which is majority-owned by the government. After completing the contracted exploration period, having drilled two exploration wells and invested about $240mn, BP determined that there was no technical basis for a gas project at Risha. The reservoir, BP tells MEES, was of poor quality.
