Qatar’s new Amir 33-year-old Shaikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani reshuffled his cabinet on Wednesday, as young blood move into top positions. This included a new prime minister, Shaikh ‘Abd Allah bin Nasir Al Thani, aged 43 – replacing a long-serving power broker Shaikh Hamad bin Jasim Al-Thani – as well as a new cabinet (see table).

It is yet to be announced if Shaikh Hamad will also lose his positions as head of Qatar’s sovereign wealth fund Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) and its subsidiary Qatar Holding.
